New Year's Eve @ Time Square

The New York Police Department will begin closing down access to Times Square starting at 43rd Street and Broadway and moving north as revelers arrive. The exact times that these blocks close to pedestrian and vehicular traffic will depend on when the revelers begin arriving. It is likely that there will be no vehicular traffic on either Broadway or Seventh Avenue as of approximately 4:00 p.m. Vehicles will most likely have difficulty traveling across town after 6:00 p.m. above 42nd Street as far north as 59th Street. If you are planning to come to Times Square and join in the festivities, you are advised to enter from Sixth or Eighth Avenue. Your chance of getting a viewing spot near the Ball (at Broadway & 43rd Street) increases the earlier you arrive. The blocks will be closed off as they fill up northward, street-by-street, as the police deem necessary.

Michael Jackson "This Is It"

So Kat’s all time favorite musician is Michael Jackson. I now get to say the wait is finally over for Michael Jackson fans. The Michael Jackson documentary film This Is It, featuring the last video footage of the late superstar performing, hits theaters worldwide on Tuesday.

This Is It will premiere around the world on Tuesday to sold-out crowds. The Hollywood premiere of the film will take place at the Nokia Theatre. This Is It director Kenny Ortega, along with celebs such as Snoop Dogg, Zac Efron and Smokey Robinson are expected to attend.

Fan reaction to the film so far has been mixed. While millions of fans are eagerly anticipating seeing video of Michael Jackson in his final days, some are not so positive about the documentary. One collection of fans has launched a “This Is Not It“ campaing, claiming Michael Jackson was pushed beyond his limits the last few months of his life by business colleagues and friends alike.

Few actually saw the film in its entirety before its release. Even entertainment journalists were granted only a 12 minute clip of the film to review last week. One who was granted a viewing of the entire film - Michael Jackson longtime pal Elizabeth Taylor. Posting on Twitter Monday, Taylor said This Is It “is the single most brilliant piece of filmmaking I have ever seen… It cements forever Michael’s genius in every aspect of creativity.”

Las Vegas Road Trip Halloween 2009

One week to go! Me and my family will be driving down to Vegas for Halloween. I have my map with Starbucks locations. I got tickets to Zumanity, for the adults. Really good seats by the way. Im putting together a list of adult beverages to take to the hotel. Some of my FAVEs are Pomegranate Martinis, Mike's hard lemonade pomegranate and Kahlua & Cream. My hubby is liking Baileys these days, so I will be picking him up some.

We will be seeing all the sights, roller coasters, tigers, sharks, Spongebob. Yes, Spongebob for my Darnell. For Emily, we will be going to the Frightdome on Halloween. I'm already scared.

The three bedroom PENTHOUSE suite on the STRIP should be real nice. I am so loving this. Can't wait!

The Original "Rob Thomas Road Trip" Part 2

So, by now you all have heard the beginning of our exciting trip. Kat and I have now seen Rob Thomas in concert 3 times, once with Matchbox 20 and twice solo. So, as Kat has expressed, we did in fact stop 25 minutes into our trip and we did have a “rude little thang” helping us at Starbucks! After all that, we did decide to stop at Jack-In-The Box and that was about 15 minutes later. Our trip down was good, however, not the best or most exciting. Kat and I have been feeling a little under the weather lately and we both woke up that Saturday morning with the biggest headaches, feeling as if we were massively hung-over. Once in Reno, we stopped at the Meadowood Mall so Kat could find a cute shirt to go with the cutest shoes! She unfortunately had no luck and was not satisfied with the outcome. We also went into Buckle because back in Redding they sold out of a pair of shoes I fell in love with. I procrastinated in buying them for many reasons, none of which I can believe I let get in the way. So, Buckle had the shoes, but absolutely not one in my size or surrounding size! Talk about disappointment…

We left the mall and checked in at the Silver Legacy which is literally 1-1 ½ blocks from our hotel, the perfect walk. Like Kat said we did get ready in record time…only 1 ½ hours. Not bad for two women! Once inside the Events Center, we stood in line for a drink and as we drew closer to the counter we decided against drinking so we wouldn’t “sweat”. If that isn’t the funniest excuse…but true. Like I have expressed before and to many people he put on the most awesome show. Rob Thomas is truly a great entertainer.

After the concert we walked back to the Silver Legacy and finally decided to get a late dinner. We both had been excited to check out the bars and to finally have a drink. After dinner we went to the room to change our shoes and to drop off our purses. That is where our night ended. What a disappointment! However, we both seemed ok with not going out and just staying off our feet. What we women do for our shoes…

Sunday morning came and we both got around (once again in record time)… up by 8:00a.m and out of the hotel shortly before 10a.m. On our way out, we had to get a ICED CARMEL MACHIATTO, along with that Kat had Banana Bread and I had a Cheese Bagel (FYI…Starbucks in Reno on Virginia Ave. does not have a toaster or anything to warm the bagel with). Then the adventure began…

We were both feeling so much better that morning that we talked about everything. I have now decided that when we go out I am the Buffalo and she is my Wing (the wing woman). We stopped at the Roseville Galleria in Roseville, CA. on our way back. We checked out Buckle, Areopostle, Fossil, Delia’s, Finish Line, Popcornopolis, Cinnabon, Macy’s and this awesome Home Décor Store (Designs 101, made our FIVE BEST STORES) our with the cutest items!

After our little shopping spree, we hit the road I-80 West to I-5 North and only stopped one time… Taco Bell in Willows, CA. We both ordered a Chicken Quesadilla, and who would have known that the Willows employees make them so much spicier than in Redding? Kat and I were dying…! By the time we got home it was a little after 6:00p.m., and Kat’s little boy opened the door for us and was completely overjoyed to see his mom.

The Original "Rob Thomas Road Trip"

Over this past weekend, me and Tab went to Reno, NV to see the one and only ROB THOMAS. We drove down I-5 to Sacramento, then on to I-80 East. 25 minutes into the trip, we stopped in Red Bluff for a ICED CARAMEL MACCHIATO and the girl that helped us at STARBUCKS was a rude little thang, they didn't have bagels. Back on the road we figured, "we could eat," so 15 minutes down the freeway, we stopped in Corning for food. A breakfast sandwich from Jacks. We ordered the same thing, but I took her bacon and she took my egg. From there, we made a straight shot to Reno. We went straight to the mall. I forget the name of the mall, Tab might know. She'll also tell you about the Buckle.

After a couple hours at the mall, and trying on about 50 shirts, I couldn't find anything. We went to the hotel, Silver Legacy. We got ready in record time. I wore these cute leopard heels. Tab talked me into buying them. Walking the one block to the concert, I was moving about .5 mph. Really. Cute shoes though. We went to get drinks, but ended up getting their biggest soda. We are party animals. We got to our seats with 5 minutes to spare. I'll let Tab, fill in the blanks. Then we will tell you about the main event.

Sidewalk Angels Foundation

Established by Rob and Marisol Thomas, Sidewalk Angels Foundation is a New York-based non-profit organization that works hand-in-hand with charities in and around America's big cities. Life in the city can be so fast that those in need are often passed by. People who are destitute or homeless and get lost in the system; those who cannot afford proper medical care; animals that have been abandoned or abused -- these are universal problems that Sidewalk Angels encourages people to address locally.

Rob Thomas

I’m sure many of you are out there saying Rob who? My response would be Rob Thomas…lead singer of the band Matchbox 20. Let me tell you why he is one of our Fave’s for the moment. Let’s start off with how boy next door, riding his motorcycle cute he is... Followed by his voice, the voice of a sexy, rebellious angel…with the right amount of rasp and the way he emphasizes certain words in his music, that should be enough to melt any woman. We recently had an opportunity to see him during his Cradlesong Tour ‘09 at the Reno Events Center, Nevada on October 17. Let me tell you, for those of you who might not know the music or much of him, he is a definite musician to look up! His music can take you through so many emotions such as: sad, angry, happy, optimistic and being inspired. You can check out his website at: www.robthomasmusic.com

Road Trip to Las Vegas

Question of the day:
Is Tabitha going to Las Vegas?
The road trip of the year! 12 hours of junk food, music, cheesy road games, Iced Caramel Macchiatos, pit stops in the middle of nowhere...

New Moon Dilemma

Of course we have tickets to New Moon.  But now another theater is offering a sweet "Double Edward" deal. Never mind... they're both doing it.
